Is is possible to play Sims 3 without a certain video card?
My computer is old, not the new Windows or Mac or whatever. I bought Sims 3 but whenever I try to play it it says I need this certain video card. Is it possible to play with my regular video card?
P.S. The video card I'm 'supposed' to have is a video card from the 'hightech' computers. PLEASE HELP!|||You shouldn't need an ultra high end card to run sims 3 (sims 3 wont be as demanding as most other games like first person shooters etc), though you may need a minor upgrade to meet the minimum requirements.

What is a good temperature for the 8800GT Video Card?
How Hot can this Video card be? I just overclocked this card from the stock 600mhz core clock to 700mhz so i can Play Crysis WH in high settings. temperature ranges from 70-75 Celsius; it changes depending if there's to much action in the game.
Can this Card handle this temperatures without giving problems? So far everything runs stable. Or what should be the temperature for this card?|||Company line is it's rated up to 100c (Celsius) , but not something I would want to stay at for too long. Up to 80C, I would start to worry about. 85C would be my red-zone. If 75C is your load temp, it's no problem.
Roger, on another question you asked: Your hardware will support both 32 bit or 64 bit Vista. However, unless you intend to run 64 bit games, you will get no benefit. Also some 32 bit applications will not have all the features in 64 bit as the do with 32 bit. 64 bit Vista will not make your 32 bit applications run better. As an example, MS's own Office Suite software will not perform all the applications it does on 32 bit. I would not upgrade to 64 bit Vista based on your current requirements. Spend your money on something else or save it for something else in the future.

What kind of video card can I put in a IBM desktop?
My mom purchased a system from a company here that was getting rid of their older systems. It's an IBM desktop (the flat ones that you put the monitor on top of) and all the parts are integrated into the board. It's a Pentium 4, so it's a decent processor, but the video card or chip set isn't compatible with most of the games my daughter wants to play on it. I was told that she's going to need a low profile video card and the GeForce PCI 5200 didn't work in it, as the metal "backing" was too long. How to check video card and motherboard compatibility?
I am thinking about buying the Gigabyte GA-X58-UD5 motherboard and the XFX-585A-ZNFC video card.

IT can't play anything from 2003 or newer, but can play WOW.

In a few months the graphics card will drop in price and you will be buying the same card but for sometimes 1/4 less than it is right now.|||If you upgrade to two 8800GTs, you will smoke nearly every other video card setup right now(except for nVidias new line [GeForce 200 series) that came out a few days ago). All for about $300. If you wait a little while, the price is sure to drop a little. The 8800 I bought 3 months ago costs $100 more than they do now.
The performance will be great, and the new Generations also support DX10 which the 7950 GT does not.
