How easy is it to add a video card in a laptop?

I have a Compaq c700 laptop, with a intel graphics card. I got Call of Duty World at War, just to find out that my graphics card isn't good enough. So how easy will it be, or is it even possible, to upgrade my video card to something better? I am tech savvy, I build desktop computers all the time, and have a strong knowledge of computers|||Laptops generally are not upgardable...You can swap out harddrives and memory, but video cards, especially your intel graphics are soldered onto the motherboard. Unless your laptop makers offers an upgrade, you are out of luck.|||Here you need a friend I wish you good luck!

http://vista.notebooks-driver.com/vista-…|||Break out the solderin iron and good luck|||you cant upgrade a laptops graphics chip they are built into the motherboard sorry|||It's not possible in that one.

If you want a good gaming laptop without needing a huge loan, look at the Gateway FX series. The P7811FX - around $1,450 - has an nVidia 9800M video card. (And it's replaceable if you want to upgrade it in the future.) The P6860FX is $100 cheaper (if you can still find one), but it runs an nVidia 8800M (also upgradable).

Can you upgrade the video card in a acer aspire ax3400g?

Can I add a video card to this computer desktop? It says it has a pci-e expansion slot but I cannot see it.|||This applies to almost all desktops.

Add? No. Swap out the existing one for a new/better one? Yes.

You'll need to open up your desktop and take out the existing one.|||Yes, it has a pci-e x16 slot, but due to the size of that systems case, it has very limited internal space and can only use a low profile card. Also, because it only has a 220W power supply, it can only use a low power, low profile video card.

The only card that will work in that system is the HD 5450. Don't expect greatness, the HD 5450 is a very low grade card, but any other card will draw too much power and cause your system to crash from being underpowered.

Here's an HD 5450 that includes the low profile mounting bracket that you'll need for that system.

How can i find out what sort of video card I have in my computer?

I tried the "click on run, once in run type DXDIAG. You will then need to click on the DISPLAY tab and the name and manufacturer of your video card will be displayed." method my computer just says N/A. This will open up the device manager, where you should click on the little + to expand the items under "Display Adapters". There, you should find the make and model of your graphics card.|||You can download and run this as it will give you all the detailed info on your comp.

How do I adjust screen size after installing new video card?

My desktop screen goes out of screen area after inst a 256 ATI Raedon AGP card. Have tried video on control panal with no luck. Even in advanced settings. Internet games now play in a 8X8 box. Cannot drag to adjust.|||You can adjust your monitor screen size by Video Display options. You will see the monitor resulotion and control buttons also... now you can adjust and fix it, on your desired screen size.|||try adjusting the zoom and horizontal and verticle size controls on you monitor; the actual osd on the monitor not the pc|||well one thing for sure man, format your PC then update all driver then play game. Voila problem solve|||"well one thing for sure man, format your PC then update all driver then play game. Voila problem solve"

Did you seriously just recommend that he format his entire hard drive? This is like recommending that someone start a journey over from their home just because they missed a single turn en route.

To the OP, I assume you're using as CRT monitor of some kind? Which card do you have and which version of the ATi drivers did you install after putting in your video card? Make sure you have the latest from the ATi website.

How do I fix this problem with my video card?

My friend gave me these parts for a computer, so I stockpiled everything I had and I built a gaming quality computer. The only problem is, I can't play games because of the video card. The card isn't that old, it is an nVidia N-Force 4 with SLI X16 performance. I think it is because I need the drivers, but I do not know where to find them. Where can I find them?|||There are a few issues with your statement here.

First, if it was a video card, it would be a Geforce, not an N-Force. N-Force is their line of motherboard chipsets.

Second, if this was a Geforce 4, it certainly would NOT be a PCI-Express x16 card, it would be regular PCI.

As for drivers, any drivers for an NVidia graphics card can be downloaded from their website, www.nvidia.com.

What video card that is not expensive will run the sims 2?

I currently play the sims 2 on a VIA/S3G Unichrome. It can run it, but it moves too slow and the video graphics are not that great. I heard people say that an Nvidia Geforce card could run the sims 2, but I would like to know what type of Nvidia video card is the cheapest to buy but will still run the sims 2? Also, is there any requirements to install a video card into a computer? Thanks|||GEFORCE|||that game is so old pretty much any card should run it but if you looking for a cheap geforce card to run it the 7300gt which is $55 should run it on max easy and it runs on any powersupply http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as… if you don't live in the US and can't order it you can find the card on other websites for around the same price|||Hi...

You should know your Graphics Card Specifications. See if it is a PCI or an AGP. Graphics don't only depend on Graphics Card, but it requires that you have a good processor also. And if your processor is up to the standard (Recommended Settings for playing the Game) then the problem is with the Graphics Card.

What you should do if you decide to Install a Graphics Card?

Well, there are different types of Graphics Card. Identify yours:-

1) PCI

2) AGP

3) PCI-Express

It must be one of the above except the 3rd one(Still New). The PCI port is a white port and the AGP is a Brown Port. There may be situations where you find that your motherboard in an integrated m/board(i.e there are no add on cards for graphics

and your monitor connects directly to your M/board.

Once you've identified which graphics adapter you will use, then go to a retail shop and ask for a Nvidia Geforce FX 5200 or 5500 with 128 mb Ram. It won't be expensive and will work great.

It is $ 37 at www.Calibex.Com.

I've tried to be as simple as possible and didn't use jargons.. if ever u don't understand anything about it, pm me.|||First you must know what interface you are looking for:AGP or PCI e, second can you even upgrade your graphic card(it is maybe integrated without expansion slot for upgrade. Third no one can help you before you write these specific details. If you want write to fireboltmi@yahoo.com, and I'll see what I can do for you. Write your complete hardware configuration with type and model of motherboard|||NVIDIA 7300 will run it as indicated by the other responders...but you will want to put out the extra $30-$50 for a 7600 or 7800 since the 7300 is already very outdated...should be able to find a fairly decent rebate on 1 that will make it very affordable.
