Does the ddr of a video card have to match the ddr of the ram?

im planning on buying a newer video card but my motherboard only supports ddr2 memory (RAM). i know that my current video card is ddr2 only and would like to know if, say like a ddr5 video card, can be supported.|||the ram on the video card does not need to match your ram for your pc so yes you may upgrade with out worry,
