What kind of video card should I get for my pc?

I just purchased a samsung 21.5 lcd monitor model# 2233SW, I need to buy a video card now but don't have the slightest clue of which to get because I have never got one before anyway I'm running windows xp with the lates service pack. Thanks a lot|||The best buys right now are:

ATI 4830...$84.99 @ NewEgg, free shipping

or, if you like NVIDIA:

9800GT

9800GTX+/GTS250 (same thing)

260GTX (216 Core)

Anything more is wasteful and expensive overkill.|||If you are on a budget and your computer has a PCI-Express slot, I would get either an Nvidia 9600GT or 9800GT (The 9800GT is the better one). You can get a 9800GT for around AUD$200 or US$150. If money is no object, you can get an nvidia GTX295 retailing for AUD$800 or an ATI 4870X2 for AUD$700. The 9600GT is enough for a 21.5" monitor|||XP hasn't had an update in a long time ! Go to a place like Best Buy and talk to the Geeks there. Tell them what you use the computer for,and they can set you up with a card in your price range. They are a no-brainer to change in a desktop.
