What do i need to know to upgrade a video card on pc?

Can someone tell me what are the need to know before upgrading my video card for my desktop? Not necessarily for gaming...just upgrading to a new one. Thank you in advance!|||Here's what you need to know beforehand.

1) Your system AND the card use the same type of interface. (both PCI Express x16 or both AGP)

2) Your systems case has enough internal space for the card. Slim tower and small form factor desktop systems will require a low profile card that must have a low profile bracket included with the card.

3) You will need to make sure that the power supply you use can provide sufficient power for both the card AND your system. In most instances, depending on the card (they each have different power requirements), a power supply upgrade may be necessary. A simple search will help you determine the power supply your system will need in order to use that specific card. For example, you want to use a Radeon HD 5550. Search using 'Radeon HD 5550', locate the AMD link, and look under the 'System Requirements' tab. If you want to use a GeForce GT 240, search using 'GeForce GT 240', locate the nvidia link, and look under the 'Specifications' tab. In both examples, the link will provide you with the power supply requirements.|||Video card is good For Gaming
