No video signal after taking out and putting back in video card?

Hi, i took my video card out to replace the fan on it. I put the video card back normally and booted up the computer. The pc started for a second then shut down for 3 seconds then it came back on and started normall. I can hear the HDD's whirring and everything seems ok but i dont get a beep like i usually do, and there is no video signal.|||You DID take static precautions, right? If NOT, then it IS likely you zapped the board and it is now just a very expensive paperweight. You can not SEE a static charge on the surface of your skin, but it CAN and DOES zap boards! What you can TRY is put the board into another computer and see what happens in a known working machine. If the video board is not installed, you will get a beep error code from the power on self test (POST) when the video card fails to respond. If you are NOT getting this code when the card is removed and you try booting, then you have motherboard problems or something else is not working, NOT video problems. Without the card installed, you SHOULD get a series of beeps, 1 long followed by 2 or 3 short beeps at least IF the motherboard and the rest of the system is working properly and only the video adapter is missing. If no error beeps when the card is installed, then it IS responding to the doorbell the POST pushes to see if there is an adapter installed. That does NOT say the card is working properly, just that the card responds to the doorbell which is different then working properly. Like with a house, when I ring the doorbell, I may hear it inside the house but that does NOT mean anyone is home to answer the door... The POST is not exactly brilliant when it comes to checking out the hardware.

My bet is on static blasting something on the card so it no longer works. Sorry, but if this IS the case, there is NO FIX. Your only option is to replace...|||Somebody didn't wear his antistatic bracelet!
