Which video card is compatible for my computer?

I need to buy a new video card for my laptop in order to play the Sims 3. The game requires a 128 MG video card with DirectX 9.0c and the package lists supported video cards, such as Nvidia, ATI Radeon, and GMA. I have an Acer Aspire 3000 and was wondering which video card would be compatible for my laptop, or at least how to find out which video card would be compatible before I purchase it? Thanks!|||You cant really put a video card to a laptop. laptops usually come with integrated video cards. you need a desktop. and for that an nvidia 8600gt or above would work good.|||oh you have a laptop..i heard if the video card for the laptop isnt compatible with the game then you need a whole new laptop thats up to date..thats what i read somewhere but maybe you can play by doing something..i need a video card for mine too..i have a desk top..and im going to get the nvidia|||You can't replace a video card in a laptop.

Unlike desktops, most of the hardware in a laptop is integrated in the motherboard, so other than RAM there is really nothing you can take out of it or change.

If you really want to see if it's possible, check with your manufacturer for an authorized repair shop and see if they can do the upgrade for you. It's unlikely, but IF it's possible that will probably be the only way to upgrade your video card.|||Hate to be the bearer of bad news Kourtney, but your laptop uses Integrated Graphics. Most laptops do. Very FEW have where you can remove a graphics card, and install a better one. VERY FEW!

(Here are two that do,

B.It's 'Big Brother',

Both of these that you are looking at, are 'Bare Bones' laptops. You have to buy the processor, ram memory, harddrive, and graphics card, and install them, or have them installed)

Info on your laptop,

Integrated Graphics is a graphics chip that is soldered to the motherboard.

A -> GPU, (Graphics Processing Unit), soldered to the laptop's motherboard.
