So I need a new video card because mine is not really a card , It's built in the mother bored and its a Nvidia Geforce 6150 LE , So it's insanely old and doesnt work that good cause its built in so i play off my motherbored basicly. What is the best video card i could get to use with a 450watt power supply? I dont want it to fry my pc.|||That's a tough question to answer, because QUALITY of power supplies is so variable from one brand to another. Do you have a 450W power supply? Do you REALLY?!? Or do you have one of millions of "450W" power supplies that perform about as well as a good 300W power supply?
If your power supply is a good name brand AND has at least 30A available on the +12V rail AND has a PCI-Express graphics card connector . . .
I think your best bet for a video card that won't bring your system to it's knees is a HD 5670. Good gaming video card, requires a minimum 450W power supply.
If your power supply is an off brand or you're not sure of the brand . . .
Probably be better to buy a decent power supply first, and then you'd have a better selection of video cards, also.
