I have 2 Nvidia 7950 GT's in Sli. What would be some good video card setups to upgrade to? Also, would the improvement be drastic or hardly noticeable (ie should i wait for new gens of video cards or not?)
Thanks|||The next gen of card are here. The GTX 260 is going to be $400. The ATI 4870 will be released in 2 days.
Your 7950gt's would be the equivalent of an 8800gt probably. You'd need to get an 8800gtx, 9800gtx, 9800gx2, gtx 260, or gtx 280, or 4870, for it to be a drastic upgrade.
The 9800gtx is only $199 right now. A really good buy. If you sli two of those, it would blow your system out of the water.

skim through that link. Those are the new Nvidia cards. See how your card stacks up.|||Hey dude. If you are on a budget I might tell you to hold off a bit till the 8800 gets a little lower in price but otherwise you could go with 2 8500 gts they got lots of memory and would be sweet together or if you want ot max it out go with 2x 8800 gts but overall I think you are in good shape right now. I know a lot of people are going to be telling you to max it out but if that were me I would wait. In a few months the graphics card will drop in price and you will be buying the same card but for sometimes 1/4 less than it is right now.|||If you upgrade to two 8800GTs, you will smoke nearly every other video card setup right now(except for nVidias new line [GeForce 200 series) that came out a few days ago). All for about $300. If you wait a little while, the price is sure to drop a little. The 8800 I bought 3 months ago costs $100 more than they do now.
The performance will be great, and the new Generations also support DX10 which the 7950 GT does not.
