I got a new video card, but when my computer boots it stops at the loading screen and turns black?

I just bought a new video card and everything is compatible with my pc because I already checked on another yahoo answers. anyway when I put it in my computer boots up, but then it stop on the loading page and turns black. What do i do?|||Try booting in Safe Mode -- if your computer doesn't boot normally you should get a message and a list of options. If you can boot in safe mode, then go to your control panel, select display, and try loading the drivers for the video card or if Safe Mode won't let you install driverws, set the card to a low resolution serting (640 x 480, 256 colors). Reboot normally, hopefully your screen should not turn black. Go to control panel, install drivers or find drivers on the internet for your card. You may have to reboot once again, then go to the control panel and increase the display settings to a higher resolution (e.g., 1024 x 768, true color)
