Was it a mistake to buy a silent video card?

I recently bought an ASUS 9600gt video card silent. I installed it in my computer and updated the drivers and everything.

The problem is that when I try to run a program as non-demanding as Cooliris, the screen goes Blue Screen of Death for 1 second and restarts. It does this everytime. I've reinstalled the software and the drivers several times. Nothing works.

My friend's regular GeForce video card runs Cooliris with no problems and I've seen computers with older and weaker video cards run it.|||I had the same problem with I first install my 9800gt. My old PSU was a 400watt without PCI powerconnector. I upgrade to a 550watt with 2x PCI powerconnector. and the problem went away.|||Could be a problem with device drivers, hardware or software. This problem can be solved by uninstalling new software, updating device drivers and making minor configuration changes . From http://fixit.in/bluescreenofdeath.html . You can also run a free registry scan using utilities from http://rcyj.com|||Doublecheck and make sure you plugged in the 6-pin molex power connector. Is your power supply enough to power the card? You need a minimum of a 400 watt power supply to sufficiently power a 9600.
