What is the best bus for a new video card?

If I were to build a new computer what bus should I use for the video card? PCI, PCIe, AGP, something else?|||Many years ago, PCI was used for graphics cards but no more, those slots simply don't have the bandwidth to keep with with today's cards or games. I don't even know if its possible to buy a PCI graphics card anymore.

AGP is on the way out and is being replaced by PCIe slots. Now some computer or motherboards have variations on PCIe slots. PCIe is supposed to be an x16 slot but some motherboards have more than one PCIe slot which shares the bandwidth among the slots so you may not be getting the full capability. You might have one PCIe x8 slot, another PCIe x4 slot and a PCIe x2 slot and a PCIe x2 slot. So when you purchase the motherboard or computer make sure that you have at least one full PCIe x16 slot. To answer your question PCIe is the way to go. AGP is on the way out, in fact, it is out, all new PCs and motherboards exclusively use PCIe for graphics expansion.

Which card depends on your budget but I like nVidia card and I wouldn't get anything less than a 128MB Geforce 6600GT, do not get the 256MB 6600 it is much slower than the 6600GT and they are pretty much in the same price range.
