What video card that is not expensive will run the sims 2?

I currently play the sims 2 on a VIA/S3G Unichrome. It can run it, but it moves too slow and the video graphics are not that great. I heard people say that an Nvidia Geforce card could run the sims 2, but I would like to know what type of Nvidia video card is the cheapest to buy but will still run the sims 2? Also, is there any requirements to install a video card into a computer? Thanks|||GEFORCE|||that game is so old pretty much any card should run it but if you looking for a cheap geforce card to run it the 7300gt which is $55 should run it on max easy and it runs on any powersupply http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as… if you don't live in the US and can't order it you can find the card on other websites for around the same price|||Hi...

You should know your Graphics Card Specifications. See if it is a PCI or an AGP. Graphics don't only depend on Graphics Card, but it requires that you have a good processor also. And if your processor is up to the standard (Recommended Settings for playing the Game) then the problem is with the Graphics Card.

What you should do if you decide to Install a Graphics Card?

Well, there are different types of Graphics Card. Identify yours:-

1) PCI

2) AGP

3) PCI-Express

It must be one of the above except the 3rd one(Still New). The PCI port is a white port and the AGP is a Brown Port. There may be situations where you find that your motherboard in an integrated m/board(i.e there are no add on cards for graphics

and your monitor connects directly to your M/board.

Once you've identified which graphics adapter you will use, then go to a retail shop and ask for a Nvidia Geforce FX 5200 or 5500 with 128 mb Ram. It won't be expensive and will work great.

It is $ 37 at www.Calibex.Com.

I've tried to be as simple as possible and didn't use jargons.. if ever u don't understand anything about it, pm me.|||First you must know what interface you are looking for:AGP or PCI e, second can you even upgrade your graphic card(it is maybe integrated without expansion slot for upgrade. Third no one can help you before you write these specific details. If you want write to fireboltmi@yahoo.com, and I'll see what I can do for you. Write your complete hardware configuration with type and model of motherboard|||NVIDIA 7300 will run it as indicated by the other responders...but you will want to put out the extra $30-$50 for a 7600 or 7800 since the 7300 is already very outdated...should be able to find a fairly decent rebate on 1 that will make it very affordable.
